The photos below are a small representation of the
collection shown in the photo exhibition "From the Founding of
the Republic to the Present: Kalkan in Pictures". This
exhibition opened on Republic Day in the Kalkan Culture
House by the local governor and was shown for two days,
October 28th and 29th, 2005. It was the first showing of
this project, which was two years in the making by Kalkander,
and will be exhibited twice in 2006 as well.
The photos were collected from Kalkan families, individuals
and the local government and the project hopes to buid a
visual bridge between Kalkan's past and the present. The
Kalkan Association plans to produce postcards, calandars and
prints of this collection of rare Kalkan photos as a
fundraiser in the future.
